One of the differences between professional and amateur singers is the position of their chins. When you see a singer reaching for a high note by looking up and straining the neck, that’s a sure sign of someone who has not been properly trained. Professional singers know that high notes need an open larynx, which is achieved by looking straight ahead, or perhaps with the chin slightly tilted downward.

Dr. Everett McCorvey offers workshops in proper vocal techniques. Participants learn both physiological and psychological skills for optimal singing and performance, including good posture and breath control.
